The shop PC
Updates, Update Till and when the PC is offline
The shop PC keeps Isletek up to date by itself, and sends your price changes to the tills at the counter when you press Update Till. When the PC is off or asleep, much of Isletek still works, and what needs the PC waits for it.
Updates
Every hour the shop PC checks for a new version of Isletek. It downloads it and puts it in at 03:00. When an update is ready, Update now in Isletek's window or the tray puts it in at once. A shop admin's Restart in Settings › Devices also puts in an update that has already downloaded.
Update Till
Changes to products and prices reach the till's database first. The tills at the counter take them only when you press Update Till at the top of the page. The button shows how many changes are waiting. Managers and up can press it. Isletek says when it is sent, and how long it took.
What still works while the PC sleeps
Invoices still arrive by email and are read in the cloud.
Price emails are read and wait to be matched.
Chat, supplier email and the Community work as usual.
What waits
Checking new invoices against the till, and stock changes for the till, wait for the shop PC. Isletek holds them and finishes them when the PC is back. Update Till needs the PC too; until it goes through, your changes stay counted as waiting.
