Chat
Chat: topics, private chats and the floor
In this page
Chat is where your shop talks inside Isletek. A topic is one subject, such as a short delivery. A private chat is between two people.
Topics and who's in them
Anyone can start a topic, the floor included. Managers and admins start with access; you choose who else has it. Mention floor staff who aren't in it and Isletek asks whether to bring them in. A topic started from a product or a supplier links to it.
The outcome
A topic's outcome says what it is for. Anyone in it can change the outcome or the name; each change is written into the topic, with Undo for a minute.
Closing
A topic quiet for three days gets a nudge. When its last to-do is ticked, it closes itself. Anyone can start a closed topic again.
Private chats
A private chat is just the two of you. If it turns into work, press Make it a topic above the box.
A message's menu
On a computer, point at a message and press ⋯; on a phone or tablet, hold the message. Copy text copies its words, with names as you read them. Copy link copies a link to the message.
To-dos
Start a line with [ ] to make it a to-do. Mention a person to give it to them; add a time such as "before Shabbat". Every to-do is also a task; ticking it in Chat or Tasks ticks both.
Photos, files and voice notes
Add photos, files, videos and voice notes; Isletek writes out a voice note's words.
Polls
A poll has two to eight answers. You choose whether people can pick more than one, whether names show, and when it closes.
Send later and After Shabbat
Send later holds a message until the time you pick. After Shabbat sends it after havdalah at your shop. Until then, press Send now or cancel it.
Notifications on phones
On a phone or tablet, switch on notifications to get messages with Isletek closed. None come while you are looking at Isletek, or from candle lighting to havdalah; what waited arrives after.
