Printing and labels
Set up each printer once
In this page
Settings › Printing is where you tell Isletek what paper each printer holds. Do it once, and every label finds its printer. A manager sets printing up.
Papers
A paper is a label roll or a sheet of labels. A roll has its size, the gap or black mark between labels, and which side runs across the roll. For pre-printed labels, add a photo of one. It shows behind your designs and never prints. Mark any areas to keep clear. If your size isn't listed, press Add a paper, or ask Isletek with Request a label size from Isletek.
What each printer is loaded with
Every printer your shop PC shares with Isletek is listed. If one is missing, tick it in Isletek on that PC. Rename a printer to a name you'll know, and say which paper it holds. Hide one you never use in Settings › Devices.
The wizard
The wizard asks which paper is in the printer, then prints a test label. On a Zebra, Isletek first reads what the printer had, to put it back later. If the printer can't be read, Isletek asks before it keeps the paper.
The test label
If the test label is right, press Yes, it's right, and the printer keeps the setting. If it is wrong, press Too big or Too small, and the wizard tries the next size. Press Cut off to line the print up with the paper. Put the printer back as it was undoes a saved setting on a Zebra.
Change the roll
Loaded a different paper? Press Change the roll here too. Nothing is sent to the printer.
Start again
Start again sets a printer back to not set up, so you can use the wizard again.
One rule per kind of label
Shelf labels, promotion labels and product stickers each have one rule: a design, the standard layout on a paper, or a PDF only. Order sheets go to the A4 printer or are saved as a PDF.
