Adding a product from its barcode
In this page
When you scan or type a barcode the till doesn't know, Isletek offers to add it as a new product. It fills in what it can from your invoices and similar products, and you check it before anything reaches the till.
The unknown barcode
Search the Products page for the barcode. If no product rings it, you have two choices: Add to a product you have puts the barcode on a product already in the till, and Create a new product starts a new one. A barcode that a switched-off product still carries is not free: switch that product back on instead.
The new product window
Type what the product is called and pick its supplier. Add as a new product stays shut until both are given. It opens the form for the case cost, units per case, shelf price and the rest. If the product has no code of its own, Isletek offers its barcode as the code.
The invoice lines it offers
As you type the name, Isletek asks Is this the product you're entering? and shows invoice lines that match. Pick one and press Add it from this invoice, and that line's own window opens with its name, code, cost and case size. The invoice line is answered too.
Suggestions from similar products
Isletek suggests a brand, hechsher, department and VAT rate from similar products. It offers one only when at least two agree, and they are two in three of those that say. The suggestion shows under the field with Use. Nothing is filled in until you press it.
The shelf price
Isletek never adds a product without a shelf price. If you don't type one, it uses the catalogue's recommended price, or your cost plus your shop's usual markup, rounded to your shop's price endings. If it can't work one out, it asks you.
On the till
The new product goes into the till straight away. The tills ring it after Update Till.
