Price updates from suppliers
In this page
Price updates collects every new price your suppliers send: on invoices, in price emails and in price lists. Nothing reaches the till until a person agrees it here.
Price emails and price lists
When a supplier emails new prices, Isletek reads them, including from a spreadsheet with no PDF. Each line is matched to your products and waits for you here. A wrong guess costs nothing: a price email never writes to the till by itself. If the shop PC is asleep, the email is read in the cloud and matched when the PC is back.
Which price is used
On a price change Isletek takes the supplier's cost, never their suggested retail price. You set your shelf price from the cost.
The baseline
A supplier's own price list can be kept as its baseline. Isletek then compares their invoices with that list, not only with the cost in your till. Keeping a list as the baseline changes nothing in the till.
Prices with VAT inside
For a UK supplier whose prices include VAT, when your shop is known to be VAT-registered, the new price is shown without VAT and marked "calculated without VAT". The printed price shows when you hover over the note.
What reaches the till
Tick the prices you agree, then press Update selected. The new cost goes into your till, and the tills at the counter take it after Update Till at the top of the page.
New products from a barcode list
A supplier's email listing barcodes and prices can also add new products to the till. Isletek takes the retail price for a new product and checks every barcode first, so a product is never made twice.
