A supplier's settings

Each supplier has its own settings. They tell Isletek who to contact, which emails are this supplier's, where its bills go in QuickBooks and how to read its prices.

Contacts

A supplier can have several people: a sales rep, the sales team, accounts, claims and returns, orders, deliveries, management. Each needs a name and an email or a phone. Isletek may already know some of their people; you can hide any of them.

Invoice emails

Give the address the supplier sends invoices from. Isletek reads their emailed invoices and files them under this supplier. Your own shop's mailbox can't be used here.

The QuickBooks vendor

Each supplier is matched to its vendor in QuickBooks, so its bills go to the right place. Isletek matches a vendor with the same name and never makes a duplicate. Only the shop admin can match or create a vendor.

What it supplies

A goods supplier sells you products that go through the till. A service supplier, such as an electrician or a landlord, does not, and its bills count as expenses.

The POS link

The supplier is linked to its company in the till. If that company is missing in the till, or the till holds the name twice, the settings say so and help you mend it.

Prices including VAT

Some suppliers print prices with VAT inside. Isletek works this out from their own invoices. For a UK supplier, when your shop is known to be VAT-registered, it compares their prices with the till without the VAT. Your invoice totals, stock and QuickBooks never change. If Isletek has it wrong, a manager or admin can set it by hand in Pricing terms.

A second supplier for a product

You can connect a second supplier to a product. Isletek writes one line for it in the product's Notes in the till, starting with @, and keeps that line's price up to date. Your own lines are never changed; a hand note you turn into a link is removed. This needs the shop PC on 0.9.51 or later.
