The shop handheld stops being only the shopper's price checker and the packer's screen. It becomes the device each member of staff picks up on arrival and keeps all day.
A scan of their badge, or of the same barcode they sign into the Semtek till with, opens their own home page: their messages, their tasks and the orders to pack, in their own name. From there, in turn: clocking in and out, a new order to pack announced on the device, a delivery due with the count and its photos done on the same screen, and messages between upstairs and downstairs, all on the one device and nothing else to be distracted by.
Handhelds are rented from Isletek by the month, never sold, so a broken one is replaced and every one is looked after. The first step, signing in with the till barcode and the home page, is being built now.
